Onion prices on Tuesday hit a record high in the Kurnool market

  • Kurnool: Onion prices are skyrocketing. Onion prices on Tuesday hit a record high in the Kurnool market. Yesterday, onion prices rise by Rs 10,180 to Rs 10,220 per quintal. 40 per quintal as compared to yesterday. Officials said that the main reason for this was the gradual decline in onion yields. On the other hand, in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka, there has been a significant decline in onion cultivation.

  • AP Chief Minister Jagan reacted to the onion prices. The farmers were ordered to take action against the burden of the onion and sell it at the farmer's bazaar till the price of onions declined. CM ordered the marketing department to subsidize the price stabilization fund. He warned that stern action would be taken if the onion was smuggled. The departments of marketing, vigilance and civic affairs should take special measures.
